This recipe has turned into an annual (occasionally maybe also semi-annual) rendition that as evolved from a SMaSH attempt many years ago. Original versions started with several packs of free hops at a time when palisade hops were first released for homebrewers. First attempts were with Weyermann’s Munich I and a few oz of palisade. That has evolved since to what’s outlined below. Never attempted a lager strain but Wyeast’s American Ale (1056), Northwest Ale (1332), or Ringwood Ale (1187) work very well here.
